About this website

Design:

The design of this website has already gone through 5 iterations since its inception in 2002. Currently the design is based on the liquid two column template provided at matthewjamestaylor.com.

Standards:

All pages on this website are written by hand in valid XHTML 1.0 Strict using CSS 2.1 for layout. The code is then checked using HTML Tidy. All pages can be verified at the W3 validator.

Hosting:

This website is hosted by Openhost in Auckland, New Zealand on a Linux box (Debian Lenny 5) running Apache. mod_deflate is enabled to gzip compress all text content. Content is served as UTF-8.

Statistics:

These initially came from Site Meter, but I am now using google analytics. Over the past year I have an average of about 116 visits per day. The most popular browser is Firefox at 51%, then IE at 27% Chrome at 9%, and Opera at 2%. For operating systems Windows is 73%, Mac is 16% and Linux is 10%.

If something seems broken, or looks bad on you computer tell me about it. I know early versions of Konqueror had issues with scrolling, but version 3.2 onwards work fine.
